APB Reloaded is shining some light into a once cold and dark place

So as many of you may know, APB was an mmoshooter cops and robbers game that was hosted by real time worlds back in 2010.  Well….it died…it’s unfortunate.  There is yet a ray of hope for you fans out there.  Real time worlds’ mmoshooter, APB, was purchased by a free to play game company called gamersfirst.  Gamersfirst has spent the last few months, restoring the game in a free to play style, and have just gone into open beta on monday.

For those who still don’t know, you can get into the APB open beta right now at www.gamersfirst.com.

If you played in the old days you may be thinking “what about weapons balancing and hackers?”.  Well I’m proud to say that gamersfirst has been on top of every single item that plague the original.  Weapns are far more balanced as well as cars, progression and unlocks have become more straightforward, and the hackers have been kept as low as possible.  There will always be hackers but at least gamersfirst it taking it much more seriously then RTW (real time worlds).  Punkbuster, the game’s anti-cheat program, has been helping in this matter.  If you’ve encountered a hacker in game, chances are they’re banned by now.  Gamersfirst has been right on top of everything and I’m personally very happy to be back in game.

So take the time to check out the new apb.  I believe it will be worth your while to give it a chance.

(Sorry for the odd format, I’m making this article from my tablet, and i’ll refine the layout later.)

Well folks it’s been some time…

Assuming people still read AvidTechno, I’d like to extend my hand in re-welcoming you to the site.  I’d like to promise frequent updates but as we all know, life gets in the way, and this is not our full time job.

With that said, I’d like to begin posting articles every Monday and Friday at least. (I speak on behalf of myself and no one else on the AT crew).  on Wednesday’s I’d like to start a segment that posts weekly (name TBD).

Lets get rockin.  Tomorrow, Friday the 27th of May, expect the first article in my schedule.

Weekends seem to suck when it comes to news.

Well it’s unfortunate but a lot of us here at Avid Techno have some things going on, pre-occupying our time to deliver you good news and reviews.  One thing I can say is that weekends are pretty laid back when it comes to tech news.  So rest easy because there’s not much going on.  It’s boring I know but due to the lack of content this weekend I felt it necessary to follow up and let you all know we’re still here.

You all should be ready for some more news and reviews this week.  Our goal is still the same and we plan to deliver.  Stay tuned.

Dragon Age 2 Features Save File Importing.

The first case of Save Data importing that really hit the market, was with Mass Effect 2.  The choices and actions you made as Commander Shepard in Mass Effect, could be transferred into the world of Mass Effect 2.  It looks as if this will be the case with Dragon Age 2, but how will Bioware pull it off with a new Protagonist?
