Unboxing Of The Final Fantasy XIV Collector’s Edition

For all of you out there who are wondering what comes with the FFXIV collector’s edition, look no further, because today we’re un-boxing it for your viewing pleasure. The Final Fantasy XIV Collector’s Edition comes with a moderate amount of things.  Looking at the box for the first time, needless to say, it was a good size box.  Sheathed in a clear flexible plastic cover, this book style box folds open in the style of a book.  A big book I might add.  It’s somewhat exciting for someone who played a lot of Final Fantasy XI Online.  I can say that I’ve anticipated this game for quite some time and I enjoyed the beta.  So looking at the box for the first time made me feel giddy to open it.

Once the box is open, the first things you see on the left side, is the game case.  You know what’s inside, you totally do, but you wanna savor it so you’ll look at the other stuff first.  So tempting though hehe.  Tempting for some more then others maybe.  Nevertheless, to the right side we look!  The right side contains the security token, One Time Password system that Square Enix adopted back in the Final Fantasy XI days, and underneath that is the leatherbound adventurer’s journal.  It contains a small map of Eorzea, many pages to write in, and in the back portion of the book it contains some concept art.

Onto the last portion of our un-boxing, we have what’s in the disc case.  As shown below there are 2 discs.  One is the game installation disc while the other is “The Making Of…” disc.  I haven’t watched it yet so I can’t give my feedback on it quite yet.  Also contained in the disc case are several redemption codes.  Some of which include, the in game item “Onion Helmet”, the Right Of Passage certificate order key (Basically you can have SE send you a certificate with your character’s name, race, birthdate, home town, etc on it.  I’m a geek so of course I ordered it.), and last but not least, the registration key for the game itself.

Thanks for reading about my un-boxing of, Final Fantasy XIV Collector’s Edition.  Stop by tomorrow for a review of FFXIV as well.  Hope you enjoyed the read.
